The town of Landsborough is situated just north of the Glasshouse Mountains less than an hour's drive from Brisbane. It is also the gateway to the spectacular Blackall Range and only 20 minutes from the beautiful beaches of the Sunshine Coast.
Landsborough, located in the southern end of the Sunshine Coast, lies just north of the Glasshouse Mountains between Caloundra and Caboolture. Situated at the foothills of the Blackall Ranges, the town was first settled in the early 1870's and became an important stop for Cobb & Co en-route to the Gympie goldfields and nowadays services the local industries which consist of macadamias, pineapples and other crops. Of interest in the area include the well-known Australia Zoo (4km south), Caloundra & Sunshine Coast beaches (20km east), Glasshouse Mountains (15km south), Big Kart Track (5km east) and Ewen Maddock Dam (6km north-east), a popular reserve which features several walking tracks and picnic areas
There are many natural and scenic attractions in the Landsborough area. It is also a town steeped in history. In Landsborough you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while taking pleasure in the modern conveniences and shopping facilities that are a far cry from the early beginnings of the town.
You can enjoy a pleasant drive to Landsborough from Brisbane. Simply follow the Bruce Highway north and take the turnoff to Glasshouse Mountains Road. This pretty section of road once formed part of the old highway north. Along here you can stop and admire the glorious magnificence of Tibrogargan. Tibrogargan is the Glasshouse Mountain that stands closest to the road. Further along there will be a turnoff to the left to Landsborough. Landsborough is less than an hour by car from Brisbane.
Coming from the north down the Bruce Highway you turn off at the Landsborough turnoff to come along Glasshouse Mountains Road from a northerly direction. After a pleasant drive you will come to a turnoff to the right to Landsborough. Landsborough is less than an hour by car from Gympie, less than 30 minutes from Nambour and only 20 minutes from the Sunshine Coast.
