What will you do on YOUR Sunshine Coast holiday? Sunshine Coast accommodation

With summer right around the corner, and the school year about to end, there's the anticipation for vacations before the Christmas holiday.  With the current economic climate, a lot of Australians are focusing on affordable, memorable vacations within the country, and this has led to renewed interest in holidaying on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.  And once you're settled in your Sunshine Coast accommodation, there's just so much to do!

Top of the list for Sunshine Coast holiday attractions, along with the beaches and the swimming, are things that allow you to have some fun inside away from the sun. First, there's the Superbee Honey Factory, which is the largest honey producer in Australia.  It's got live beekeeping demonstrations and a few fairy tale themed attractions, like the cottages of the Three Bears, and Snow White. For those family members who are slightly more mature, there's 18 hole mini golf. There are also Lorikeet feedings and a few other attractions for adults as well.

Make no bones about it, you'll be doing Superbee Hony Factory for the kids first, and yourself second.  For something that's more suited to older children (and their parents), check out Bli Bli castle.  Built in a place where a mangrove swamp had lots of oak trees, it's a medieval castle opened in the early '70s; it's got a great atmosphere, and fascinating rooms.  You can get a Tudor-themed hotel room, threaten to leave the kids in the dungeon torture chamber, or just enjoy the large display of mediaeval armour and weapons.

If you're looking for something a bit more modern, you can also choose from kite festivals to go kart racing to a range of golf courses; the Hyatt Regency golf course at Coolum is a host of the Australian PGA Championships.

It wouldn't be a Sunshine Coast holiday without some beachcombing activities and, if you love the beach and have an interest in what's under the waves, the Sunshine Coast has it all.  Underwater World can put you face to face with the denizens of the deep, from the sharks to the shyest rays, with an underwater moving walkway and daily presentations of seals and more.  For people with a fascination with the alien world a few hundred metres off of dry land, there's no place in Queensland that matches this.

After you've checked out the sights, it's time to get something to eat, and there's a full range of restaurants catering to every possible culinary fashion in Maroochydore; from the Surf Club, to steak houses and prime sea food - often caught fresh that afternoon.  For those who want to do something after dinner, there are dance clubs, nice walks along the boardwalk and movie theatres.

Maroochydore has plenty of Sunshine Coast accomodation to offer.  We look forward to seeing you here on your vacation!
