Sunshine Coast holiday weather a mixed blessing
Why does Sunshine Coast accommodation become more and more popular each year? Because it's the perfect holiday location, of course! You can hardly argue that the Sunshine Coast doesn't live up to its name. The gorgeous September weather is just the start of a hot, dry holiday period; perfect for sunbathing, water sports and having fun on the slides at the water parks!
Right on cue for the school holidays, September's hot, sunny Sunshine Coast weather has seen its beaches crammed with holidaymakers and locals alike. The laid back atmosphere of the Sunshine coast never ceases to attract tourists. However, with the recent sunshine the coastline is packed with them! The Sunshine Coast offers a wide selection of restaurants, entertainment venues and sightseeing attractions, as well as great Sunshine Coast accommodation to suit all budgets and the most stunning views out over the ocean.
In the day time, it's beach time. Sit back and soak up the rays or get stuck in, building sandcastles or playing volleyball. What better way to cool down than splash about in the sea? Hanging out at the beach is the ideal way to relax in the company of your friends and family. Beautiful scenery, delicious refreshments and sun, sun, sun. What more could you ask for on holiday?
The Sunshine Coast is packed with attractions and sights that are only enhanced by glorious weather. Why not visit Thrill Hill water park at Nambour and have great fun on the water slides? Or perhaps you prefer to keep your feet on dry land. The Underwater World at Mooloolaba might be more your thing. You might choose just to enjoy the Sunshine Coast by strolling along the docks at sunset or sitting out and eating fresh, local food under the stars.
Unfortunately, hot weather isn't all good news. The tourists might be happy sunning themselves on Main Beach, but the local farmers are too busy worrying about their crops to sunbathe. Dry winds and no rain means that local crops are in danger of being ruined and recently, there has been an unfortunate reminder of the dangers of bush fires.
The lack of rain means that bush fires are likely to spring up across the region. If you're visiting the Sunshine Coast, take care to adhere to the current fire ban. Don't be careless. Extinguish cigarettes completely before disposing of them in an appropriate bin. Don't let your kids have access to matches or lighters and ensure you report any new fires immediately. Stear clear of areas where they are bush fires to keep as safe as possible.
However, with a bit of extra care, there is no reason to let bush fires spoil your holiday. After all, there's a whole Sunshine Coast out there just waiting to be explored! You better get down to the beach early and get the best spot. Book your Sunshine Coast accommodation early to make sure you don't miss out on the great weather. The whole family will love the experience of visiting the Sunshine Coast and its fantastic beaches. Don't forget your sunscreen!
