Suncoast Connect

Is it just me or does it seem like business as usual on the Coast at the moment. The Council Amalgamation got heaps of publicity before it happened and now we don't hear or see anything much about what amazing things this "super Council" is going to do!

The new Council is probably lazing by the pool drinking Pimms and lording it up on our rates. Nothing unusual in Local Government or on the Sunshine Coast.

On a positive note, I think council Amalgamation on the Sunshine Coast is a good thing. Prior to the Amalgamation it seemed that Noosa, Maroochydore and Caloundra councils were competing against each other in the tourism market.

I think it is a positive thing for this region. While people say that it will make council's lazy... people would be surprised what work the council does and how much more will be done to make sure that no matter what part of the coast you visit it is of the same standard overall.

If it was going to be a bad thing it would not have happened. I am sure there are "experts" who have done their research and have come up with an unbias decision. It is only a recent change.... give it a bit of a chance.... it is all about changing with the times...
