First settled in 1887, Montville is today an integration of restored historical sites and modern day structures.
Known as 'The Creative Heart of the Sunshine Coast', Montville has a true village charm exceptional to all other centres. You will find a pleasant blend of Tudor, Irish and English cottages of log or stone, Swiss and Bavarian chalets, an old mill water-wheel, colonial and old Queenslanders and of course, one of the most spectacular and panoramic views over a coastal plain one could find in Australia.
Experience the myriad of art galleries, pottery studios, craft cottages, fashion houses, gift and antique shops, specialty shops and more, where you will find that 'something different'. Each Christmas the length of the Main Street is illuminated with coloured festoon lights for the enjoyment of our evening visitors.
Montville offers award-winning restaurants, tea rooms and cafes, both indoor and out, where you can relax and enjoy a wide variety of menus, some ethnic, some traditional, all wholesome and wherever possible, using fresh local tropical produce.
A diverse range of accommodation is available within the village and immediate surrounds, offering well-appointed motel suites, bed & Breakfast cottages and villas, cosy guest houses and luxury private cabins for family stays to memorable honeymoons.
Within the village, the sites and restored buildings of historic note are signposted. A Senses Trail has been established at Razorback Lookout, providing direct contact with nature for our sight impaired visitors.
Adjacent to the village north, Kondalilla National Park invites visitors to experience its scenic walks, waterfalls and lush rainforest. Similarly to the south, Baroon Pocket Dam with its tranquil waters provides picnic areas, walking tracks, fishing, sailing and canoeing.
Montville Village, nested atop the escarpment of the Sunshine Coast's Blackall Range offers all that could be desired by the visitors - unique shopping, fine food and accommodation amidst rural lakes and National Parks, all within easy driving of both the Sunshine Coast and Queensland's capital, Brisbane.
